Must have kitchen gadgets: from a mom who wants to spend the least amount of time in the kitchen possible

Let’s be realistic.  As moms especially, we do not have extra hours in our day.  I dread mealtime, especially because I have a picky eater and *confession*  end up preparing two dinner options more often than I care to admit.

With that said, I am thankful for these must have kitchen gadgets in my arsenal.

Amazon Echo

I had no idea this would make my list of must have kitchen gadgets.  I have the echo but the Amazon dot would be equally as helpful.  There are so many reasons I love, love, LOVE Alexa, our echo gadget.  I can set so many specific reminders at one time; it’s incredible!  “Alexa, remind me to flip the chicken in 20 minutes.” And, at the same time, I can say, “Alexa, remind me to start the spinach side dish at 5:15 pm.”

I’m not even sure there’s a limit to the number of reminders she can remember at one time.  While I’m making dinner, the Echo won’t let me forget about my laundry- ha!  “Alexa, remind me to move the laundry to the dryer in 47 minutes.”

I’m sure you already know but Alexa can do like a million things.  Play games, turn on lights, tell jokes, give you the weather forecast… too many cool things for me to list.  Here’s a complete list compiled at the end of 2017 but no doubt, there’ve been many more additions at the time of writing this.

The instant pot

This kitchen appliance was one I had in my Amazon cart for months in 2016 before it became a bit hit.  I read it’s description and thought, man… this sounds awesome.  But, I couldn’t justify the purchase initially because it was going to be one more appliance to add to my small kitchen that was already overflowing.

Stainless Steel Baking Pans

These are relatively new to my kitchen but the fact that they’re stainless steel- sign me up!  I am not a hand washer unless an item is forbidden in the dishwasher, so my old ones were looking pretty rusted and nasty.  I love not having to worry about rusty pans again!

Silicone bags

I guess these wouldn’t be called gadgets but they’re a must-have in my kitchen.  They save space as compared to my glass storage containers in the fridge, freezer and in our lunch boxes.  They are reusable compared to disposable plastic bags which is my favorite of all the reasons I love these.  Good for the planet!

Vitamix

Oh, where do I even start with this?  The Vitamix holds the number one spot on the list of my must have kitchen gadgets.  I know, I know… it’s expensive!  But, it’s by far some of the best money I’ve ever spent.  There are days I use it 3 times a day.  I use my vitamix to make smoothies, dressings, nut butter, coconut milk, batter for our favorite crepes and more!

Stainless Steel mixing bowls

Actually, I currently have glass but man, do I wish had these instead! Every time I grab one of my glass bowls, I am afraid I’m going to break one or more.  This set would have been so much smarter because mixing bowls are essential and with the little amount of space I have, they’ve got to be stackable.
