Baby, it’s cold outside! May I recommend a warm cup of healthy hot chocolate?
Perhaps you’d like to turn it into an adult beverage? Add some kahula or baileys or perhaps some dark rum.
But I digress. Back to the healthy, kid-friendly version of this oh-so-yummy warm winter beverage.
This is a simple alternative to the boxed processed powder-filled packages and let me tell you: the taste is far superior to any premade packages you’ll find on shelves in stores.
For real, you guys. Try as I might, every time, my four-year-old daughter will just not accept my attempts at switching to homemade healthy foods more often than not. THIS though. This hot chocolate was a BIG win today. I tasted it and it was clear why. Try it and you’ll see, too!
Healthy Hot Chocolate ingredients:
1/4 cup Caco Powder
1/2 cup Pure Maple Syrup
Wisk the two ingredients together until smooth and you can store it in the fridge for up to a week. I use these 8oz mason jars for storage, not just for this yummy syrup mix but for storage for so, so, so many things. You can use this for syrup on ice cream, too. For the hot chocolate, just mix it into a nice hot (or warm for those little guys) mug of milk and taaaa daaaaa. Perfection.
