There are plenty of Costco executive membership benefits but the first one on this list is the best, is rarely acknowledged, and it’s one you need to know NOW
Scroll down to see how!
#1 Costco will pay you to shop there
That’s right. Move most of your shopping to Costco. Not only will you save money on what you’re already buying, but Costco will also pay you to do your shopping there. Before I realized all of the Costco executive membership benefits, the stores I went to several times a month mostly included our local grocery store and Walmart. We are a family of three for reference. Our average weekly spend on groceries and household items was around $250. When I refer to household items, I’m talking about toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, bar soap, etc.
The first of Costco executive membership benefits is you get 2% back on all of your purchases. That means all you have to spend a YEAR is $6,000 for the cash back to pay for your membership. That means you get to shop there for free. That’s an average of $115 per week or $500 per month. Are you spending more than that already at other stores combined?
Now, let’s do this. Add in when you purchase birthday gifts, maybe a popular book for yourself or clothing (they have great clothes for adults and kiddos!). At the end of the year, I received a check for $186. That came out to be an average of $174 I spent per week on items I was going to buy anyway. So, by shopping at Costco, I got a free membership, and they gave me $66 in cash.
Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Sign me up again!
#2 Buy yourself gift cards
Y’all, this is crazy not to do! Costco carries many gift cards at an average of 20% off to your local restaurants. Do you ever eat out? One of our favorite restaurants in the area is PF Changs, so if we are going to eat there anyone, you better believe I am going to buy ourselves $100 in gift cards for just $80! Say whaaaaat?
If you already have a membership, have you done this? We are only at number 2 so far sharing what you need to know about Costco executive membership benefits! This is a big one. I love saving money. Especially twenty percent!
#3 You’re a family of 3? We are, too! Still! Shop at Costco because all of these still apply
If you’re a small family, you might be thinking, “I would never benefit from shopping at Costco. We would never consume the amount of produce purchased in bulk before it goes bad. Ummm, hi. I’d love to enlighten you on this subject!
Root vegetables last about five weeks! Potatoes and sweet potatoes? Check. Five weeks in the pantry. A 10-pound bag of organic carrots? Check. Five weeks, fresh in the fridge. Apples? Check.
You don’t have to purchase all of these things at the same time. Meal plan and you’re golden.
#4 Costco has a huge selection of organic foods
In addition to the impressive organic selection, the cost for non-organic and half the size is usually the same at our local grocery store. Another no-brainer.

#5 Costco executive membership benefits: another one of the BEST- their return policy
This reason alone could keep me shopping at Costco my whole life. Costco executive membership benefits include what I believe to be, the most generous return policy in all of the retail world. With very few exceptions, you can return almost anything you purchase and get a full refund- anytime. That includes the executive membership!
Yep, that’s right. If you’re not happy because you didn’t earn back the complete cost of the upgraded membership price, Costco will fully refund your membership. Costco executive membership benefits: this is the best one of all.
